5 · Ask Merlin

Ask Merlin before you hit send.

Ask the thing you’d ask a friend. Merlin asks what happened, because that changes the answer, then gives you a straight one.

patterns fit. Not whose photos win.

The apps surface faces. We surface the people whose pattern reads as a fit for yours. You both rate each other 7 or higher across what actually matters — looks, personality, interests, lifestyle — and the match opens. No swipe roulette. No ‘matched’ notifications that go nowhere. No same-arc-different-person.

When the conversation cools, ask Merlin to read it back. Only when you ask.

Everyone has a bit of each. Your mix shows which one shows up most, and the green piece is the one you grow.

If you’re a woman, the quiz tells you which one is yours. If you’re a man, the quiz tells you which one she tends to run and how you tend to respond. Same names, two reads.

Is this a dating app?+

It's an attachment-style matchmaker — the read comes first, the matching comes second. Hinge and Bumble surface faces. We surface the pattern. By the time you're matching with anyone here, you already know which shape your last three relationships ran on, and what to do next.

How does the matching work?+

You both rate each other 7 or higher across four pieces — looks, personality, interests, lifestyle — and the match opens. Underneath the four pieces, the app reads the pattern beneath: your attachment style, your pattern mix, your seduction repertoire. The four pieces are the filter. The pattern is the matchmaker.

What if I'm a man? The patterns sound like they describe women.+

They do. The framework was built first to name the patterns women run when dating men. The men's read is in build — same three patterns, turned around: which is the woman in front of you running, and how do you tend to respond? Take the quiz to be first in line when the men's version ships.
